Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) for Opioid & Alcohol Use at OnPoint Integrated Health and Advanced Psychiatry is led by a doctorally prepared addiction specialist who treats substance use as a medical condition, not a moral failure. Our goal is clear: reduce cravings, stabilize physiology, and help you rebuild a life that is bigger than withdrawal and relapse.

For opioid use disorder, we provide buprenorphine-based treatment (often known by the brand Suboxone), including structured inductions, dose stabilization, and maintenance phases. We screen for co-occurring benzodiazepine use, alcohol use, chronic pain, and psychiatric conditions before starting, then monitor symptoms, liver function, and other safety markers at defined intervals.

For alcohol use disorder, we use medications such as naltrexone (oral or injection) and acamprosate when clinically indicated. We discuss how each option affects cravings, enjoyment of alcohol, and liver health, and how it fits alongside antidepressants, mood stabilizers, or sleep medications you may already take.

Visits are structured rather than rushed. Early in treatment, you can expect closer follow-up, in-office or virtual monitoring, and collaboration on harm-reduction strategies-such as overdose education, naloxone distribution, and safer-use planning when abstinence is not yet realistic. As you stabilize, intervals extend, with a focus on sustaining recovery while managing work, relationships, and other health conditions.

]Because we are an integrated psychiatry and primary care practice, your MAT is not isolated from the rest of your health. Depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and chronic illnesses are assessed and treated in the same setting, with one clinician coordinating the plan.
